Stampin' Up! Flourishing Phrases for the Happy Inkin' Krew Thursday Blog Hop

Thursday rolls around so fast...don't you wish the weekend would do that as well? If you are retired, every day is a weekend unless you are volunteering somewhere or going to the doctor every day...lol.

Okay, on with the important things...like the colors for our challenge today. Oh, trust me, it was a challenge! Take a peek...

Those of you who know me, know that I LOVE Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black together. BUT, when Lovely Lipstick is thrown into the mix, what is a gal to do? Well, she does this...

Yep...a Basic Black card base, Lemon Lime Twist mat, and Lovely Lipstick art panel!

Time out for a commercial...over at Watercooler Wednesday
Crystal is doing an "All About Occasions" challenge so I'm entering my card in that challenge. After you do our hop, I hope you will have time to visit the Watercooler because there are some beautiful cards to see in addition to ours here.

Back to our scheduled program...so, the technique on my card is called "Bandana". Y'all gotta be familiar with bandanas. There are yellow (a song by Faron Young - I'm dating myself), black, blue, and yes, my red bandana...a song by one of my faves...Merle Haggard. I'm a country girl at heart and have every right to date myself! I had a 9 year old and a 2 year old back in '79!! I digress...I think you can figure out this technique. You stamp in black and take a white gel pen to make dots or dashes or both! and anywhere you want!!

I stamped my sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist on a scrap of Whisper White and used a die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I mounted it on the Basic Black scalloped mat, which I cut from the Layering Ovals Framelits. Once I had my Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon stretched across and secured, I adhered the sentiment piece to it and glued all the pieces to the card base. It looked a little plain so I took my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and colored three Pearl Basic Jewels and stuck them to the sentiment.

That's all folks...nothing to see inside because it's a blank palette.

However, there are more finished products to see...just hop along by clicking on "Next" to go to Julie Johnston and her marvelous project...or click on a name link and you'll be transported to whomever you want to see next!
