Stampin' Up! Springtime Foils Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

It's amazing how quickly Thursday's roll around. For working people, that's a plus because you know the weekend is just around the corner. Well, just around the corner is also the card I created for the hop.

Today our challenge is a color one...

When you are finished perusing, there's a button below to get you to Julie Johnston's beautiful work of art.

For my card front, I chose to use the Springtime Foils, which is exclusive to the second release of Sale-A-Bration. This paper is beautiful and you can do so much with it. I colored mine by using a sponge dauber and sponging it with Soft Suede ink. There are little cluters of dots on the paper which I pressed the dauber on and wish I hadn't. It looks better in real life though! I colored the leaves with my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker. The flowers were colored with the Light and Dark Pool Party Blends.

My card base is Garden Green, with a mat of Pool Party and one of Soft Suede. I adhered those to the card base and then adhered the foil piece to those.

The ribbon is Garden Green Stitched Satin Ribbon. The "Hugs" is cut from Pool Party using the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.

For the inside, I used the Hold on To Hope stamp set. The background flower sprig is stamped off twice in Garden Green and the verse is stamped full strength in Soft Suede. For the mat I used Pool Party and sponged the edges with Soft Suede.
