Stampin' Up! Patriotic Birthday and Anniversary Cards

Good morning, stamping friends! Can you believe  we are headed into the 4th of July weekend? I have friends who celebrate a birthday and anniversary around the 4th so I created these cards for them.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will have a happy and safe 4th of July celebration. Wow, the Declaration of Independence was signed 250 years ago. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." I think there are many people who have forgotten this, don't you? Happy birthday, America.

 

 

 

Stampin' Up! Celebrate 4th of July Card

Good Monday morning, peeps. These two cards are representative of the cards I'm creating for the church shut-ins to celebrate them AND America. I used the napkin technique with adhesive sheets. Take a look see...

I can't even remember where the napkins came from nor the ribbon. I did add some retired blue stars from SU and the "celebrate" is a retired die from the Celebrate Thinlits set. 

My card stock is Real Red, Basic White and the retired Starry Sky. The side pieces are embossed with the retired Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Stampin' Up! Sweetly Scripted Patriotic Anniversary Card

My friends celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary yesterday and I made a card for them.  I chose a red, white and blue theme because July just reminds me of being patriotic for some reason...probably because the husband of this partnership used wood from his grandfather's barn to create a home for my husband's burial flag. The top pic was when they made the frame about 5 or 6 years ago.  The woman on the left and the man in the middle is the celebrating couple. The man on the left and the woman on the right are my Godson's parents. The second pic is my deceased son holding what is very meaningful to all of us.

They had such a fun time and it was a day of healing for all of them over the loss of my husband/father of my son. We met those friends through a Corvette trip and the anniversary couple through a Disney World trip.  

But wait, I'm supposed to be showing you my card...sorry (not sorry) about the side trip! I made a star for every 10 years.

Stampin' Up! Patriotic Anniversary

Hello my stamping friends. Today's card is a CASE of my own card here. The instructions are the same as far as cutting measurements. I didn't see any sense in repeating myself...only the paper is different.

 I embossed the front with the Exposed Brick 3D folder. The frame around the sentiment is from the retired Ornate Frames Die Set.

 Let's take a closer look, shall we? 

My inspiration came from Lynn Dunn and here's how I did it...

Base: 4 1/4" x 11" Night of Navy, scored at 2 3/4" and 8 1/4" and 1" x 4" for middle panel

Flap Mats: 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" (3) and 1" x 4" (2)  Basic White for top and bottom embossed panels, streaked with Real Red Ink

Real Red and Basic White for sentiment mat and sentiment cut with Stylish Shapes Dies. Sentiment is from This Birthday Piggy (retired). Star embellishments are retired and my stash of Real Red is depleted! 

For the inside...

Side Panels: Christmas Around the World DSP (retired) cut at 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" (that pattern is now depleted!)

Center Panel: Basic White 5" x 3 3/4"; sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo and the stars are from my stash created with the retired  Confetti Stars Border Punch.

Stampin' Up! Ohio Star Quilted Patriotic Birthday Card

Hello my stamping and quilting friends! I made this card for a friend who is a quilter. I'll show you my card and then show you her quilt, which was the inspiration for my creation.

  

Let's take a look at the front of my card again...

 

I used the smallest right angle triangle from The Right Triangle Die Set (retired) to create all my triangles. 

The card base is Night of Navy card stock embossed with the Quilt EF (retired). For my bottom square, I cut a piece of Poppy Parade card stock to 3 3/4" x 3  3/4" .

Next I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". I cut the four corner squares at 1 1/16". They are from the 2022-2024 In Color DSP (retired), as are the triangles. I adhered the triangles and squares, as shown in the photo above, to the Basic White square.  I then ran it through my embossing machine with the same EF I used for the base front.

The sentiment is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I stamped it in Night of Navy on a scrap of white and cut it out with the retired Banners Pick A Punch. I edged it with a Poppy Parade Stamp N Write Marker. I adhered it to the front with Dimensionals and added two Real Red stars.

Oh, I almost forgot the square in the middle of the block...it's a 1 1/16" x 1 1/16" piece of Nature's Sweetness DSP and four 1/4" squares and one 3/4" square of another pattern from the 2022-2024 In Color DSP. 

For the inside...

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8". I stamped the fireworks in Wild Wheat ink using a stamp from the retired Light the Sky Stamp Set. The "Happy Birthday" is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Poppy Parade ink. I added a Night of Navy star. At the bottom, I added a 1/4" x 3 7/8" strip of the aforementioned DSP.

I think that covers it...which is appropriate for a quilt card ;-)
