Good morning my stamping friends. My grandson has a birthday coming up and he lives in Manhattan. He also has access to the Hudson River on his walks or bike rides so I created this note-size card for him. I was inspired by Pat Fairless.
I'm entering it in The Paper Players challenge PP749 as Stef has decided on a theme of water for this week.
I used the City Sights Kit as it is almost perfect for the skyline of Manhattan. I started out by masking the top and watercoloring the bottom with various Stamp N Write Markers for the reflections of the buildings on the water. When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment from Unbounded Love in Versafine Onyx Black. Then I watercolored the top using Boho Blue Ink. I stamped the birds in the Versafine. The birds are from the retired Sailing Home Stamp Set.
I stamped the images with the stamp from the kit in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Light and Dark Stampin' Blends. I fussy cut them and glued one to the left and the other I adhered with Dimensionals.
The art panel is adhered to a mat of Boho Blue Card Stock, which is retired. That is mounted on the note card.
Since my grandson likes simplicity, I stamped the inside with additional sentiments from Unbounded Love and just added a narrow strip of corrugated Boho Blue card stock from the kit to carry on the water theme.
Thank you for stopping by today.
This is so cool! I used to work in Manhattan too, many, many years ago! It's not for the faint of heart! I love how you created the skyline here...and that water is fabulous! Thanks for playing with our challenge at the Players this week!
