Stampin' Up! Geared Up Garage

TGIF, peeps...hope you had a chance to hop with me yesterday in celebration of Amy's birthday. It was a great hop and what beautiful birthday cards she received online.

Today is a fun, masculine card. It would be more up my alley if it were a Corvette but I think it's a Mustang. Those two cars do like to race each other and show off. Speaking of showing off, let me show you my card. I rather like it!

I made up card kits for our card group yesterday and they really liked it too. Masculine cards seem to be difficult, but the Geared Up Garage Cling Bundle certainly is a necessary addition to your collection if you don't have it already. I found a new challenge for today...Moving Along with the Times and the theme is "masculine".

The design was not my original idea so I must give credit to Sheryl Sheckler...thank you, Sheryl.

My card base is Basic Black with a mat from the Animal Expedition DSP. Using Smoky Slate ink, I stamped the image and greeting on a piece of Smoky Slate card stock and ran it through my Big Shot with the Subtle DTIEF. The photo doesn't really show it.

The big gear was cut from Black Foil and the smaller gears from Silver Foil. I adhered them with a spray glue but you can use Tombow Liquid glue.

I'm also playing today at the Fusion Card Challenge

I chose only the photo for my inspiration outside and inside.

Those little black dots are from the inside of the gears when they were cut out. Waste not, want not!

Thank you for stopping by and if you have any questions, ask away.

  4. Wow, Karen! FAntastic! I love the way you cut the gears from foil and the little touch of the exhaust on the inside. Perfect. I used to want a Corvette, but that isn't my style any more. Love my SUV!

    1. Thanks, Julie. We owned four Corvettes. My son and I can't get in and out of one comfortably any longer.
