Welcome to our weekly blog hop. This week we have a sketch challenge and I do love this one for two reasons: 1) It's Amy's virtual birthday card AND 2) the sketch was easy for me! Happy birthday, Amy. You are one of the best leaders (Mary is the other!) I'm so happy to be on both of your teams. My teammates are the best too so be sure to hop to their blogs to see what they have created for this special lady today.
Here's the sketch...
and here's my interpretation of it...
and here's my interpretation of it...
My card base is Rich Razzleberry. I ran a piece of Mossy Meadow through my Big Shot using the Garden Trellis TIEF.
I used the Layering Ovals dies to cut my Powder Pink scalloped ovals and the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper ovals. I adhered them together with glue dots.
The Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon was wrapped around the mat and secured to the back. When adhering the embossed mat to the card front, I used a lot of liquid multi-purpose glue.
The sentiment is from the Botanical Bliss set. I stamped it on a scrap of Powder Pink card stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Subtle DTIEF. Then I cut it out with a die from Petals and More. I also used a die from that set to make the "filigree" mat. I adhered that to the ribbon with mini dimensionals.
The butterfly was punched with the Butterfly Duet Punch from the Botanical Butterfly DSP and colored with Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow Light and Dark Blends. I used my bone folder to bend the wings and adhered it with a mini dimensional.
Marsha has an occasion challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and a birthday is one of the best occasions, don't you agree?

DeleteLovely card Karen. I like that embossing folder, it's one I do not have. The butterfly just set the little ovals off.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shirley. It is one of my fave TIEF's. I'll be sorry to see those butterflies retire.
