It's Makeover Monday and today I have CASEd the card posted last Tuesday the 19th. Here's the original...
and here's it is made over...
I really think I like the first one better! I had extra triangles cut so they were in my stash. Guess what? Inkspirational Challenge #181 has this week?
uh huh!
So, I promised instructions and measurements...
Measurements:
- Granny Apple Green Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
- Blushing Bride Mat: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Whisper White Mat: 3 3/4" x 5" and 4" x 5 1/4" (for the inside)
- Tropical Chic DSP of your choice for cutting strips 1 1/2" x 6" (I chose 4 here)
- Scrap Whisper White for sentiment, bird and lily pads
- Optional: 7" of Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon
Instructions:
- Take your DSP strips and cut them in half diagonally from end to end so you have two triangles.
- Lay them on the Whisper White Mat and arrange them however you like. You can leave a tad of white space in between or butt them together. (Last week's had no white space.) Take a picture if your memory is not the best!
- Remove them in order and starting with your middle piece, adhere it to the mat. Repeat around for the rest of the pieces. Try not to get excess glue on the part that will hang off the edge. You can put stick glue or Snail Adhesive on the mat only and then lay your pieces down to eliminate that problem! You will be cutting off the excess so you don't want to gum up your trimmer or scissors.
- Trim all the pieces that hang off the edges of the mat. If you have white space at the bottom, you can take small pieces to fill in or use ribbon to wrap around at the bottom.
- Adhere that to the Blushing Bride mat.
- Wrap the ribbon around these two mats and adhere to the front of the card base.
- Stamp the bird with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut out with the die from Lakeside Framelits.
- Stamp the lily pads the same way and color as you desire. I used Blends and watercolor pencils. Cut it out with appropriate Lakeside Framelits die.
- Stamp the sentiment in Granny Apple Green and cut out with the die from Petals & More Thinlits.
- Adhere the cut out pieces with mini dimensionals.
- Stamp the sentiment from Fabulous Flamingo on the inside mat in Blushing Bride.
- Stamp the pond frond in Granny Apple Green, stamping off once, i.e., stamp full strength on a scrap of paper then stamp on mat...it's also called second generation stamping for those who are new to stamping.
- Punch two of the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch. Adhere to inside card base.
You can also create it with a space at the bottom, which is how I did it three years ago. Just readjust the size of the mat to which you are adhering the diagonals.
If you have any questions, I'll try to answer asap...just leave a comment. A partial list of products used is noted below.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this card.
