Stampin' Up! Heartland

I'm staying true to form today with my three challenges:

Sketch: Cathy came up with a wonderful design  #SC679 for my inspiration...

Theme: I think Amy came up with the Always Fun Challenge 41 - Down on the Farm

Color: Caz came up with this color challenge that pleased me to no end! Make My Monday Challenge # 62 Blue and White

My card...

Don't you just love this little boy and the geese? It's from Heartland (see product list below). I colored his skin with the Ivory Stampin' Blend. His bib overalls I colored with Stampin' Write Dapper Denim marker and then smudged it with a Blender pen. I cut the focal point out with one of the Stitched Shape Framelits. Once I had my card front put together, I adhered the square with Stampin' Dimensionals.

My card base is Whisper White. Then I adhered a mat of Tranquil Tide (a bluish green card stock). My next mat was created with the Shaving Cream technique using a Whisper White piece of card stock and Night of Navy ink. To that, I adhered a piece of Dapper Denim and a piece of True Gentlemen DSP. (All measurements are below.)

For the inside of my card, I stamped the tractor and pup, using the Heartland set, in Basic Gray. I lightly colored the tractor with my Pacific Point Watercolor pencil and the pup with the Daffodil Delight pencil. The sentiment is from the Fruit Basket stamp set, stamped in Dapper Denim.

Then I added a piece of DSP to the bottom...don't ask why...okay, I'll tell you...I had smudges of Lemon Lime Twist on the bottom of the mat! Apparently, I got carried away with my card from yesterday! (I cut my mats ahead of time and just have them laying on my work area!) That's a bad habit that has to go!

Oh, and let me tell you I had a scare with my watercolor pencils today. Yesterday was garbage day and I emptied the basket that sits next to my pencils, neutral markers and glues that are in a hat box on a step stool. (You really have to see the set up!) When I did, there was a loud plunk but I attributed it to my son tossing in his used up deodorant. (His bedroom is my craft room.) I was not about to become a dumpster diver; so, when I went to use my pencils, they weren't there...I was ready to place an order or wish I had chosen to be a diver! BUT I got on my hands and knees to take a look see and the pencils had slid onto the floor on the left, not the right where the wastebasket is. While I was on my knees, I praised the Lord for what was lost was found!

Thanks again for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed my card.
