Since my husband knows the meaning of this saying, I made this simple card for him. It's not Valentine's day and it's not our anniversary. I just wanted to let him know I AM crazy about him!
The ink pad I used from Personal Stamp Exchange in Santa Rosa, CA, is called Old Rose; it's 17 years old and I've only used it twice. I can't believe it is still moist. I've had other stamp pads that upon opening were dry! I used the masking technique to place the stripes and a sponge dauber to make the dots. Less Is More #328 is a clean and simple, one layer, spots and stripes challenge.
I wrote my own sentiment with a Versa Mark pen and heat embossed it with an old, unused embossing powder that I bought 5 years ago. I have no idea what company made it because I threw the packaging away. The sentiment is my focal point. It has lots of open space, no layers, no embellishments and only took 5 minutes to make. The only challenge I know that is like that is Addicted to CAS Challenge #111 - "Pink".
I think this is the first card I've made that used NO Stampin' Up products...including the card stock! My hubby will be pleased that I am using up my old stash before I start ordering new SU products in June!!
Thanks for looking.
Cute card and cute sentiment. And I think Perry will love it! Great job with your masking/striping/dotting!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful you made this card for your hubby "just because". He loves it for sure! Using versa mark pen for your self-written sentiment was a brilliant idea. Thanks for joining us at Less Is More!
ReplyDeleteA clever and very personalised design, and I love that you created your own sentiment. What a lovely touch! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More :)
