Stampin' Up! Positive and Inspired Thoughts Sympathy Card

Happy Saturday, peeps! Did you sleep in this morning? Not me...Chester gets me up every day between 5 and 5:30 a.m. What an alarm clock! Today he got me up at 4 AM with a hairball episode. Ugh! I wasn't supposed to do laundry until tomorrow...lol.

Today's card is a CASE of Connie Stewart. I used the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set, the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set (both current) and the Vine Design Stamp Set (retired).

This technique is called watercolor wash. However, I used 70% alcohol instead of water as it doesn't warp the Very Vanilla cardstock (5" x 3 3/4") as badly as water would have. I inked up my clear block D, used a Water Painter filled with alcohol and got the block quite wet and just kept swiping it from the block to the cardstock.  Once it was dry, I stamped the image from Positive Thoughts in Merry Merlot. Then I stamped the sentiment from Vine Design in Merry Merlot. I made a bow out of Linen Thread and adhered it with a glue dot.

I cut a mat of Merry Merlot (3 7/8" x 5 1/8") and adhered the mat to it, then that to my Crumb Cake cardstock base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Easy peasy and quick!

The inside is quite simple...

The butterfly from Positive Thoughts is stamped in Crumb Cake ink. The sentiment from Inspired Thoughts is stamped in Merry Merlot.

The card is for a gentleman who just lost his wife this week and she was only a month younger than me. She was loved by the whole community. I'm entering it in the ModSquad Challenge "With Sympathy" Challenge by Tracy Shultz. Check out her card, it's beautiful! I'm also entering Pammie's Inky Pinkies ATG #2030 Challenge.

Stay well and thanks for stopping by today on your busy weekend.

Stampin' Up! Corner Bouquet Sympathy Card

TGIF, peeps! Today's card is one we made at our Thursday card group. Barb prepared the kit for each us and I think it's quite pretty even though it's for a sad occasion.

The Corner Bouquet Stamp Set was a Sale-A-Bration set from January 2021, as was the Heal Your Heart Stamp Set used on the inside. Our next Sale-A-Bration begins August 3.  On that day, I'll be able to post the digital catalog on my Catalogs tab. Be sure to check it out!

The "flight" pattern is from the Garden Wishes Stamp Set, which is current. I had all the butterflies in my stash. The middle one is an enamel brad (no packaging!) and the other two are from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and punched with the Butterfly Duet Punch, both of which are retired.

The die cut sentiment is one Barb had pre-cut for us. The bouquet was colored with Stampin' Write Markers using Highland Heather, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight inks.

I used the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set, 2nd generation to give it a barely-there image.

I'm entering my card at ModSquad "With Sympathy" Challenge,  Double D Colors of Summer Challenge, and Addicted to Stamps & More - #410 Die Cuts and/or Stencils.

I've added a new "subscribe" button to my side bar. So, if you haven't already signed up to receive a notification of when I post, I'd be honored if you would AND I'd be very honored if you click on the "Follow" button as well!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a good weekend.

Stampin' Up! Sweet As a Peach Fun Fold Birthday Card for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop. This week we have a color challenge. If this is your first time here, welcome! If not, welcome back!! Either way, you're in for a treat!!! I used the Sweet As a Peach Stamp Set to create my card for today.

We had to choose three from these colors...

I chose Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz.

My card base is Basic White cut at 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2" and 4 1/4" to make the fun fold (Book Binding). Fold the score at 4 1/4" back on itself.

Next take a piece of You're a Peach Designer Series Paper cut the left piece at     1 1/8" x 4" and the right piece at 4" x 4". Adhere them to the card front. I love the flowering blooms of the peach tree, don't you? I hope Time Out Challenge #193 - Inspired by Words DT does! I'd love to have a garden full of peach trees...mmm, peach pie, peach cobbler, peahschnapps...oh, I digress...let's get back to my card!!

Wrap a 6" piece of Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave ribbon around the left portion and secure it on the back. Put liquid glue on the back of that part and close it shut. Bend back the right side and go over the score with your bone folder. Make a bow and adhere it on the front with a glue dot so it is centered on the ribbon.

Stamp the sentiment from Sweet As a Peach on a scrap piece of Basic White and cut it out with the die from the Ornate Frames Die Set. Adhere it to the Pear Pizzazz that is cut out with another die from the Ornate Frames. Adhere it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Ready for the inside? I was able to do this after watching a You Tube Video by Rachael Coon. It's easy peasy!

With the side you want to see in your card face up, fold it in half lengthwise. Unfold it, turn it 90 degrees and fold same way again. Then flip it over and fold diagonally. It should fold up nicely into a square by meeting the two center scores at the point.

Create your sentiments with the Sweet As a Peach stamps. I cut a Basic White square 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" and stamped the Happy Birthday in Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the leaves with the same color but 2nd generation. I inked up the peaches with Pale Papaya ink and used a sponge dauber to add Calypso Coral ink to portions of the peaches. For the other sentiment, I used Calypso Coral ink on a piece of Pale Papaya card stock that I cut out with a die from Tasteful Labels. I used another die from that set to cut out a Basic White mat and sponged the edges with Calypso Coral Ink.

Adhere the sentiments to the portions that are square with no crease line in the middle.. Fold it back up, do a trial run to be sure it's oriented correctly with the sentiments. You'll need to place the square diagonally so that the points touch the edges of the card and don't show from the outside. Then put liquid glue on the bottom part and adhere it to the right inside of the card base. Put liquid glue on the top part of the folded square and press the inside left portion of the card of top of the glue.

Open up the card, et voila!

I'm also entering my card in the Krafty Chicks Challenge #570 - ATG and Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper July 2021.

Stampin' Up! Beauty of Friendship Fun Fold

Mid-week again! Yesterday I watched a tutorial on You Tube and decided to give the fun fold a try. Here is my prototype...

I used these stamp sets to create my theater/stage fun fold card:  Beauty of FriendshipA Wish for Everything; and Celebrate Sunflowers.  I used two die sets: Tasteful Labels and Beautiful Trees. Last, but not least, two embossing folders: Greenery and Evergreen Forest 3D. The deer and cardinals were in my stash, cut out moons ago! Speaking of moons, I saw the moon this morning and an unusual sunrise. My iPhone camera doesn't do it justice but I just had to try to capture the beauty.

Back to my card. It's called a theater or stage fun fold and the easiest/fastest tutorial I found was here. There are many others out there and they use different methods and measurements. Gemma has a great tutorial but it is a little bit longer because it's more precise and she uses slightly different measurements than Michelle. I used a tree pattern from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.

My colors are Merry Merlot, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Real Red and Mango Melody. It doesn't show in the photo but I sponged Craft White ink over the evergreen trees and used my White Chalk Marker to create snow falling. I will be remaking this card because the left "curtain" doesn't open as well as the right. I think it's because the dry embossing is much higher and covered the entire piece. The one on the right opens perfectly. I was brave using good cardstock for a mock-up! BUT, that's how good I felt both video instructions were. Here it is from above...

I'm entering my card in Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper July 2021 Challenge, Make My Monday Challenge #153 - Trees, and Watercooler Wednesday: WWC321 Tristan's All Things Masculine Challenge

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop tomorrow where the participating team members create cards or projects featuring all current Stampin' Up! products. If you aren't familiar with a blog hop, we explain in our post how it works. I do hope you'll have time to stop by tomorrow.

Today's card was made for two people who are going through a rough time. I hope they will enjoy it and think of me everyday at 5 o'clock! In order of sequence...

turn that wheel!

turn it again!!

ahhh!!!

I used the Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set and the image inside is from the retired Half Full Stamp Set. I colored the wine glasses with So Saffron, Rich Razzleberry and pink Stampin' Blends. The other inks I used are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

If you don't have the Give it a Whirl Dies, Tasteful Labels dies, and Love You More than dies that were used to create this card, I have listed them below for your ease in shopping! Oh, yes, and while you're shopping, order the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper...it's on sale for $17.85 until August 2! Stampin' Up! All for Baby Christmas Card

Welcome to Monday Makeover Madness. I just love sharing my M & M's with you! Help yourself to some at the bottom of my post!!

Remember Lilly the new baby (most babies ARE new and never old!)? Well, this year will be her first Christmas so I wanted to jump right into the ring for sending her her first Christmas card. Her parents received this card when she was born.  So, I made it over using the All for Baby Stamp Set and "snippets" from Tidings of Christmas DSP. It's the same teddy bear stamp but I've added a bow to him and hung different apparel.

My card base is Cherry Cobbler. I stamped the clothesline in Crumb Cake on a panel of Basic White. On scrap white, I stamped the teddy bear in Early Espresso and cut it out with the matching Baby Clothes Dies. I used the dies for the onesie, bow, bib and clothespins. I stamped the sentiment from the set in Cherry Cobbler.

I used the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set to create the inside. I also had a "present" laying on my desk that I adhered with a Stampin' Dimensional. That package has been laying there for a couple of years so I don't even remember from where it came.

The tree is from Perfectly Plaid and the present is covering up the part that didn't stamp! I left a lot of white space so I could write a note to Miss Lilly.

Have you seen the film "The Bears Who Saved Christmas"? It's a cute one with so many well known actors and comedians doing the voices for the animated characters. I've included a link if you'd like to watch it. Click here! Why do I mention that? Because I'm entering my card at:

Stampin' Up! Friendly Flamingo Fun Fold Birthday Card

Good Sunday morning, peeps! Hope you are having a great weekend. Mine was hot and humid so I stayed inside working on the craft room! My card for you today is one we made at our Thursday card group. It uses all retired SU product so if that doesn't interest you, read no further!

This is a fun fold called a flip card or a swing card. You can use a die for it if you have one (Sue L. did!) but there are many videos on You Tube that show you how to make it without a die.

Sue had the card cut for us, along with the DSP (Powder Pink Fresh Florals) so all we had to do was stamp and glue! The front sentiment is from the Friendly Flamingo Stamp Set and the inside is from the Well Scripted Stamp Set

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

Stampin' Up! Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts

Good Saturday morning! My card today is one we made at our card group on Thursday. Sue M. brought the kit for us and it was a lot of fun. We used the retired Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts Stamp Set

The card base is Basic White with a mat of Coastal Cabana. Then another piece of white was embossed with an Embossing Folder that Sue brought. She also brought dies to cut out another layer of Coastal Cabana and the art panel which was stamped and colored on vellum and adhered to a Basic White panel. It was cut with another die similar to the mat. The sentiment and mat banners were cut with dies she brought. I'm entering my card in Creative Knockouts: #411 - Die Cuts/Punches.

The inside is quite simple...just more stamps from the stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow with another card we made at our card group.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Retirement Card

TGIF, peeps! Know someone who is retiring and loves boating? Then today's card is for you!

My card base is Thick Basic White with a mat of Night of Navy. I embossed the mat with the Seashells 3D EF. I had some scraps of the retired Come Sail Away DSP and Dollar Store Baker's Twine to use up so on the card they went! I used my Double Oval Punch for the mat and it's sentiment from the Sailing Home Stamp Set. I adhered them to each other and then to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside is a computer print out.

I used my Scalloped Contours Dies to cut it out, along with the frame.

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great weekend planned.
