Stampin' Up! Treasures of Life for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a theme challenge.

I don't know about you, but I always get excited when a new year rolls around and I am hoping that 2021 will be truly a NEW year. Stampin' Up! has a new catalog that I'll be able to share with you on January 5, 2021. It will also be the start of Sale-A-Bration. But more on that in another post. Let me show you what I made with the upcoming Treasures of Life Stamp Set in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog

My card base is Thick Whisper White. I took a piece of the upcoming Oh So Ombre DSP (Sale-A-Bration 2021 item) and ran it through my embossing machine with the Ornate Floral 3D EF (in the Annual Catalog). I wrapped a 6" piece of upcoming Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon around the embossed panel and adhered that to my base with liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment and image from Treasures of Life with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies. Then I colored the image with Dark Rococo Rose, Light So Saffron and Ivory Stampin' Blends. I adhered three Opal Rounds, available January 5, 2021, to the art panel and adhered that to the card front with liquid glue.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment directly on a piece of Oh So Ombre DSP. By the way, you will want to place an order (January 5, 2021) of $50 before S/H so you can get this DSP free with Sale-A-Bration! (Hint, hint!!)

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll have time to hop to see all the other "new" projects.

Stampin' Up! Most Pinned Card for 2020 and Wacky Wednesday Quote and a Little Trivia

The past two days I've shown you my favorite cards for 2020. Now I'll show you the card that was pinned the most in Pinterest.

Let's get ready for 2021 with a little fun...

Please come back tomorrow to hop along with the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop. Hint: The theme will be one to help you bring in the new year...or is it ring in the new year? Well, here's a little trivia for you...

"Bringing in the new year" suggests... "that we are leaving the old year behind in order to escort or carry in the new. (After the events of the previous year, this seems pretty appropriate.)

'Ringing in the new year,' meanwhile, has a more complicated history. For one thing, it's common for churches — especially older ones — to ring their bells in order to let people know the time. This also happened on certain holidays; as stated by the Trinity Church on Wall Street's website, people actually used to gather outside the church in New York City instead of Times Square in order to hear the church bells 'ring in' the new year."
I know my quotation marks probably aren't quite right, but I'm not an English major nor a plagiarist...I'm just a stamper with a quirky sense of humor. Be blessed today, peeps!

Stampin' Up! Poinsettia Petals for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge.
I used the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set and Poinsettia Dies to create my card today. (This is a Bundle that is carrying over and you can buy it before 12/31/20 at a 10% discount. However after 12/31/20 it has to be purchased separately and there is no discount.)

My card base is Whisper White with a mat of Whisper White that is embossed with the Winter Embossing Folder. I adhered them together with liquid glue. I cut a panel of Plaid Tidings DSP to the card front. I stamped the sentiment from Poinsettia Petals on another piece of Whisper White and adhered it to the DSP.

Next using Melon Mambo ink, I stamped the poinsettia from the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set on a snippet of Whisper White and used a die from the matching Poinsettia Dies to cut it out. I adhered that to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the berries in Early Espresso on snippets of Whisper White and cut them out with the same die set. I colored the berries with my Light Melon Mambo Blend. They are adhered under the poinsettia with liquid glue. I used five Pearl Basic Jewels for the center of the flower.

The inside is really simple...I mean REALLY simple!

I stamped the sentiment from Poinsettia Petals with Melon Mambo ink and that was it!

On my envelope, I stamped a pine cone from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and adhered a strip of matching DSP on the flap but there is no photo as it's in the mail already!

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

Quote for Wednesday

"Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Don’t forget to give Christ something this year. Give Him your troubles. No one else would want them, but Jesus is glad to bear them because it’s an indication of your faith and trust in Him."

Stampin' Up! Playful Alphabet Minnie Mouse Birthday

It's Minnie Mouse Monday! I was commissioned to create a card for a 4-year-old girl who loves Minnie Mouse so here' how it turned out...

I used a stamp from Number of Years (retired) for the sentiment and a die from Playful Alphabet Dies to cut out the "4". The ribbon is Black Glittered Organdy 3/8". I die cut the circles with dies I had in my stash. The polka dot DSP was in my stash as well and it measures 4" x 2 1/2". It's adhered to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White and mounted on the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Basic Black card base. The hearts that make Minnie's bow are from the same unknown die package I had in my stash. I added a large Pearl Basic Jewel in the center.

For the inside...

The little girl's name is Ezra. It's a unisex forename which means "helper" in Hebrew. The Grandma and Granddad will be happy with the card, I hope! The sentiment is from the retired Well Scripted Stamp Set.
