Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight Sympathy Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge. I can't wait to see what the other team members created. Hop along with us...links are at the bottom of my post.

I used a number of stamp sets to create my sympathy card. First, here is our sketch...

and here is my card...

I'm playing today at The Flower Challenge Add Leaves.

Here's a loose recipe for my card:

  • Card base - Pear Pizzazz 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Cut Whisper White mat 4" x 5 1/2"
  • Cut a piece of white tissue paper about 1/2" larger around than the mat
  • Stamp the fern from Daisy Lane on tissue paper with Pear Pizzazz ink
  • Crumple it into a ball, open it up
  • Put stick glue all over the white mat
  • Adhere tissue paper to mat and pat it down
  • Run SNAIL on the back edges of mat
  • Fold edges of tissue paper to back of mat
  • Adhere it to the card base
  • Cut a mat of Pear Pizzazz for art panel with die from Rectangle Stitched dies
  • Stamp flower from Daisy Delight in Crushed Curry on piece of Whisper White
  • Stamp stem in Pear Pizzazz
  • Cut out with a smaller rectangle die
  • Color in flower petals with Dark Daffodil Delight Blend and color center with Early Espresso Stamp N Write Marker
  • Stamp sentiment from Path of Petals in Early Espresso on scrap of Whisper White
  • Quickly sprinkle Clear Emboss Powder on sentiment and heat set
  • Punch out with Tailored Tag Punch
  • Sponge edges with Early Espresso ink
  • Adhere to front with Dimensionals
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Kindness & Compassion in Early Espresso. The fern is third generation stamping.

If you have any questions, please leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

  6. This is so beautiful and such a wonderful design for a sympathy card (something I always struggle with). I was reading through how you put this together and was so shocked to read 'crumble up into a ball'...so that's how you got the texture, so clever!! The fern is so delicate and really like how you stamped it with the sentiment on the inside of the card too. This couldn't be more perfect for our challenge this month, so glad you joined us at The Flower Challenge!
