Stampin' Up! Banner Triple Punch

My card today was inspired by one of the many kindest women I have met through Stampin' Up! She is a member of the Design Team at As You See It Challenge, in which I am entering my card. When I saw her card yesterday morning, I knew I had to play too!

Amanda Turner designed this challenge and it WAS a challenge for me! But, I went all out for it...you'll see in a minute. I'm not sure who blogged about the challenge but it was quite humorous and made me chuckle.  You need to check out the site if you have time. BUT read my post first or it'll raise a red flag. That's a hint as to what the theme is.

I always have a difficult time with banners, a/k/a flagging in the card world. It's getting easier, though, with the use of the Banner Triple Punch. Let me show you what I mean...

I formerly cut my "flags" with scissors. Now with the punch, it does all the work for me. They are all perfect! However, you are limited to 1", 1 1/2" and 2" width strips. My card base is Night of Navy. The patterned paper is from Our Daily Bread's Patriotic Collection. One of the 6" x 6" pieces had words only. Here's a photo of it...
Isn't it great? So, you can see that I didn't cut off the front part of the "W" but I did cut off "Military". I'm totally in love with the entire package and I'll be making more cards for the people who protect our land. The burlap ribbon I had to "bannerize" myself. If you follow Stamps-n-Lingers blog, you'll know that's a real word...lol.

Now, for the inside, I carried on the "flag" theme by using one of the dies from my Cheery Lynn Marine themed dies. However, I didn't use it as a die cut...I used it to emboss! I love this technique. Take a look see...

Isn't that so cool? I stamped the sentiment first, which is from Taylored Expressions "Of Thee I Sing".

I am pleased with my creation and I hope you are too. If you would like measurements or instructions let me know in a comment and I'll try to put something together for you as long as I have your email address.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow.

  2. I love the way you've embossed behind your inside sentiment, Karen. It really adds something special. The flags do suit a military theme and the papers you've used are very appealing. Thank you for joining us again at As You See It.
