Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree

Welcome!

I used the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp set, mainly,  and other stamp sets to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a sketch challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Here is the sketch we are using this week.

I chose to use the Share What You Love DSP for the leafy DSP as I have nothing else that is current...but my order is in! (Be sure to check here for the July DSP special from Stampin' Up!)

The mats measure 2 5/8" x 5". The DSP is cut with my Stampin' Trimmer and the white mat was die cut with a square from Stitched Shape Framelits. Stampin' Up! does not have rectangular dies so you have to improvise with squares. There are many tutorials on You Tube for that process.

Once I had the Whisper White mat cut, I stamped the tree trunk and branches in Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the leaves in Call Me Clover and Petal Pink. The bike is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the cross bars are done in Gorgeous Grape. The grass and dirt are stamped in Garden Green, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso. (Are you getting the picture of ink pads all over my work area?...wait there's more!) I stamped the little tufts of lake grass in Pear Pizzazz. I sponged the mat with Balmy Blue for the sky and Mint Macaron for the water. 11 ink pads peeps! I guess I was ambitious!!!

The sentiment, cut with the second largest Stitched Shape Framelits' circle, is from Beautiful Bouquet and the little squigglies are from Accented Blooms. I used Call Me Clover and Petal Pink inks, respectively. I added three Pearl Basic Jewels.

Then I adhered the mats to my Call Me Clover card base (4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2") with liquid glue, and the sentiment with dimensionals.

For the inside, I kept it very simple...

The mat is 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White. The corners are punched with the Detailed Trio punch. The bottom is stamped with the leaf branch from Rooted in Nature, stamped off once in Petal Pink. The sentiment is from Beautiful Day. I just took my Call Me Clover Stampin' Write Marker and inked one part of the stamp because I already had "Happy Birthday" on the front. I sponged the mat with Balmy Blue ever so lightly. 5 stamp sets, peeps! I know there will be some clean up in aisle whatever number it is...lol.

I hope you have enjoyed my card. I know you will enjoy the projects that the rest of our team have for you. Clicking on the "Next" button will take you to the talented Julie Johnston. Clicking on a name will take you directly to that member's blog hop post.
