Stampin' Up! Established Elegance

Here's another card we made at Thursday card group. It uses the Established Elegance stamp set. I have no idea when the set was produced or retired, so if you do, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know.

I'd also appreciate knowing if this is considered Shabby Chic or Vintage. I don't even know what those terms mean in the world of card making, but I would like to learn. Then I can enter the proper challenges when it involves either of those.

We stamped the front in Crumb Cake ink and the card base is Crumb Cake. The mats are Basic Black. I have no idea what the two pieces of DSP are but the one with black swirls is velvety. The pearls are current but the metallic button is retired. The writing on the bottom is a piece of washi tape.

I thought this would suffice for an anniversary card so on the inside I used the stamps from Floral Phrases. That stamp set has been around since 2016. I'm so glad I dusted it off today!

Retro Rubber Challenge #89 - RRCB89 has a Tic Tac Toe challenge and my card fits the bill for the bottom row across...metallics, congrats and gems. In addition to that, you must use a stamp that is older than a year. I used two sets that were older! Thank you, Jan, for this delightful challenge.

  1. Hi Karen - an elegant card and for me Vintage more than Shabby Chic! If you search on Pinterest for shabby chic hand made cards you will see lots of fab examples. I have a few of my own tries at Shabby Chic and Vintage here https://www.pinterest.co.uk/viv156/vintageshabby-cards-etc/
I am no expert either but it's nice to share and learn from each other! Happy Crafting

  3. Very pretty Karen! I think that stamp set retired around 2010-11 timeframe. I do remember it, but it's from before my time as a demonstrator. :)

  4. I think this is vintage too....and uses one of my favorite sets (from 2011-2012). Shabby chic would be more frayed around the edges, I think, and maybe sponged and more aged looking! Either way, it's lovely, I think that washi tape is a wonderful addition!

    1. Thanks so much, LeAnne. I appreciate your comments and it helps. I don't like to make my cards frayed because my mind is usually like that! LOL.
