Stampin' Up! Serene Silhouettes

It's been awhile since I've played at Pixie's Snippets Playground so today I'd thought I'd let my card visit her challenge #321. She was so kind to display my 100th birthday card from back in February here. I hope you'll click on the links to visit her very creative blog!

So for the snippets on my card...

My card base is Soft Suede topped with a mat of Crumb Cake which I ran through the Big Shot with a Swiss Dot embossing folder. Sue M., our hostess had everything cut for us...so there is a snippet of Very Vanilla, snippet of Soft Suede and another smaller snippet of Very Vanilla, which served for our art piece. We stamped the flowers from the retired Serene Silhouettes in Crumb Cake, then moved the stamp over and stamped it with Versa Mark ink. We sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and used the heat tool to emboss it. We sponged the art piece with Crumb Cake ink. The ribbon looks like Whisper White Organza, but I'm not sure as there was only a piece of it in our kit.

The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede. I'm not sure of what stamp set it came from...nor do I know the inside one.

Thank you for visiting today. I don't seem to be sure about anything, do I? I wish I could give you more info but the most important ingredient is the front stamp. She bought hers from a demonstrator who was selling retired stamps. I need to do that so if you are looking for a particular stamp set, let me know...I may just have it!

  1. Very pretty! I love the way the florals are stamped and shaded!! I admit I am partial to silhouettes too.

  4. Huh? I wrote half a comment and then - 'pooft' - it disappeared on me! I'd said how lovely this card is - really pretty and also elegant at the same time. Beautiful colours and the Serene Silhouette set is one of my favourites. And I adore the double stamping idea - clever!

Great to see you back in the Playground with us as well!

Re. your retired stamps, here in the UK we have a Facebook Group for selling (and buying) retired SU goodies/stamps. I bet there's one for the USA? That's if you're on Facebook of course - some people steer clear.

Or, why not set up a selling page with the stamps on - on your blog here? I can promote it through the Snippets Playground - for folk in the USA, as I doubt if you'd want to be posting stuff to other countries. Just a thought - but people are often on lookout for retired SU stamps. I'd be there like a shot if I lived in Sunny Florida instead of Cold Hampshire - although in fairness we have sunshine here in the South of England right now. Well, I think that's what it is - unless someone hung an orange up in the sky to dry out!

    Hugs

    Di xx
