Stampin' Up! Loyal and True

Thank you for stopping by today. It's been awhile since I have made a card for a military person and that's the mood I was in.

I had my Waterfront stamp set out to make the card my friend, Mary, had made the other night on her Facebook live. However, I was crunched for time and had to make a more simple card. This is what I came up with...
Why did I make all circles you ask? (Well, maybe you didn't, but let's pretend!) ... because I saw this challenge this morning...Tuesday Morning Sketch #443.

The circles did not start out to be the front of my card...this did...

I created it for the Tuesday Throwdown #382 "Real Life Hero" challenge. SUO Challenge 195: A Favorite Sentiment! was also on my list for a sentiment. The "humble and dedicated" is my favorite from the Loyal & True set. Every set I own has a favorite but we're limited to one, not close to 200! I have got to clean out my stamp sets...but I digress!!

Let's get back to the card front, shall we? My card base is Night of Navy. I scored it every half inch on my Simply Scored board. I thought it would give the illusion of stripes. I adhered a Real Red mat to it with Tombow glue. To that, I adhered a Pacific Point mat with Dimensionals.

I stamped the "you are my hero" four times in Real Red, Rose Red, Night of Navy and Pacific Point on a piece of Whisper White scrap. I also stamped the "Loyal and True" on a piece of scrap in Cherry Cobbler. I die cut all the circles using the Layering Circles Framelits. I adhered them to the card front following the sketch pretty closely.

Since I had my Waterfront stamp set out and I had just watched Tami White make a card using the set, I decided to use her for inspiration with the illusion of a flag. That is such a versatile set and it was the first time I inked it up. I used Pacific Point and Real Red inks for that. I stamped the silhouette and the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black. My original mat had been larger because it was supposed to be the front so I cut it down. I placed it higher on the Whisper White mat because I want to write something at the bottom.

If you have questions about the measurements or how you can purchase the products I used, just let me know as I don't have time today to list everything.

Hope you'll come back tomorrow...maybe I will have made Mary's card :-)
