Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday

I make birthday cards to send to members of my Sunday School class throughout the year. We have anywhere from 35 to 50 in our class so I am making  this one for an upcoming January birthday. The one I made yesterday was for the same purpose. Like yesterday, my inspiration came from 3 challenge sites:

1. Freshly Made Sketches #320 - A Sketch by Rita

For the front of my card, I adhered a mat of Night of Navy to a Whisper White card base. I then adhered a mat of Pink Pirouette to that. After cutting the Tempting Turquoise mat, I ran it through my Big Shot using the Petal Burst TIEF and Fast Fused it to the Pink Pirouette. I cut scraps of matching cardstock to make the banner and snipped the ends with my Paper Snips Scissors. The sentiment is from Party Pandas, which is available for free thru Sale-A-Bration if your purchase totals $50. (See my January 2 post OR click on the "Sale-A-Bration Info tab at the top of my blog.) I stuck the banners together with glue dots and Fast Fused it to the embossed panel...card front done!

For the inside, I used Night of Navy, Flirty Flamingo and Tempting Turquoise inks. The sentiments are from Amazing You (another Sale-A-Bration set), the fireworks are from In the City, and the pandas are from the set mentioned above.

I stamped the pandas in Memento Tuxedo Black, used my Pink Pirouette Blends to color the balloon. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in the dots on the party hat and to edge the mat.

All supplies can be found below along with measurements.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll let me know if you think these pandas are as cute as I think they are!

  1. What a wonderful birthday card Karen. You've combined the three challenges so well in this card. The outside is CAS but those jolly little pandas really show off on the inside.

  2. What a fun way to combine the three challenges, Karen! Love that embossed stripe down the centre of the card. You've kept it clean and simple and the lines add a certain elegance to it. And then one opens the card and it's pure fun! Combining the Pandas with those fireworks was brilliant. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
