Debbie Henderson has a great video on You Tube for a technique I never heard of...how do card makers come up with these things? Well, I gave it a try and here's the result...
Can you guess how my background was done? Nope, not watercolor...yep, finger nail polish! I threw out bottles of nail polish the other day but kept four behind even though I wasn't going to use them because of the formaldehyde. These were OPI bottles and not cheap so I am happy I saved them. The technique was fun and not too messy if you use gloves and a popsicle stick. Debbie used her bare hands and her bone folder. I CASEd Cara's card at The Flower Challenge. The flowers I used are from SU retired Secret Garden stamp set and dies. The colors I used were SU's watercolor pencils: Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. I die cut the circles with the Stitched Shape Framelits and emphasized the stitching with matching colors. The polish colors were: Chicago Champagne Toast, A Rose at Dawn...Broke by Noon, and Skating on Thin Ice-Land. Unfortunately, the pink and purple outdid the champagne toast.
I really do hope you'll make a card using this technique.
