Musical Butterfly

The watercolor paper I used for this card is a Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor card stock. I haven't been happy with it except for the watercolor smooshing card I made awhile back. This technique was one shared by Kim Peck and just involved stamping and "spritzing". I used Sweet Sugarplum, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp. When I spritzed it, the water ran down the card front into my Sahara Sand sentiment and off to the side. Perhaps I used too much water or perhaps it's the watercolor paper. I would like advice on what kind of paper to get when I reorder. I thank you in advance.

All other products I have used are Stampin' Up. I was inspired by Just Add Ink #357 "Colour" and Fusion - Musical Butterfly Challenge

These are two of the most fun sites for challenges and I hope you'll visit them if you haven't already. So for my card...the before picture...
and the after picture...

I restamped the sentiment on scrap watercolor paper and adhered it to a scrap of Sweet Sugarplum paper. The music DSP is from This Christmas and the butterfly was from the Butterflies Thinlits and cut out of gold glimmer paper. The sentiment came from the Picture Perfect  stamp set.  The first attempt didn't even pass the Rorschach test...lol!

Thanks for looking!

  2. Such a beautiful, dramatic, watercoloured background, Karen - even if it did provide you with a bit of grief! Nice save, with the sentiment. Thanks for entering your beautiful card in our challenge at Just Add Ink this week. :)
