Stampin' Up! Eastern Palace

I am so proud of myself today...I used some of my DSP and a die set I have never used...Eastern Palace and Eastern Medallions. I made the card in celebration of a friend who is having a birthday next week.

I used my newly found Quilt Top TIEF for the 3 Very Vanilla strips (3 1/4" x 1"). The sentiment is from Beautiful Bouquet, stamped with Fresh Fig on Whisper White and die cut with the Layering Ovals dies. The mat is Fresh Fig as is my card base. I added a little Copper Metallic Thread behind the sentiment. The dots are White Perfect Accents colored with a Bronze (copper) Sharpie.

My son made Beef Jerky today with his new Christmas present...a dehydrator. I had washed all the parts and laid them on a mauve towel on the kitchen counter...thus my new background...I am very adaptable!

Stampin' Up! Year of Cheer

Today has not been a good day in the realm of card making! First, the card I was going to make had the following problems: I had obviously misplaced the Quilt Top TIEF OR I had never checked my order to be sure I had received it OR I had given it to a customer by mistake. I had to start cleaning up my craft area and drawers to find it. My room was all cleaned up, TIEF not to be found. I then looked at my grid paper area, et voila! I had pulled it out of the drawer late last night and then went to bed. Lesson learned...DO NOT get my supplies out when I am not going to be working on a card!!

However, after the lost was found, I opened the package of DSP I was going to use only to find that the sheets were imperfect. I have another package so when I feel like hunting again, I'll find out if the card is truly doomed! I know Stampin' Up! will make good on the flawed paper even though I ordered it in June before I was a demonstrator!! They are good like that.

So, I couldn't waste the rest of the afternoon by not making a card. I made a celebratory one for my husband when we renew our wedding vows in 2019. It will be our 50th and we are hoping the chemo will pull him through til then and after! In 2013 they gave him 3 years with chemo and one without. I love that he has beaten the odds but I am hoping the good Lord will continue to help him beat them even longer. Without further ado...

Because I am imperfect, so is my card. My punched hexagon DSP piece is a little off, but it's consistently off. In my world, two negatives make a positive so for me it's good enough to enter a couple or three of challenges.

I thought of the Year of Cheer DSP because of Elizabeth Price's card on the #TGIFC140 December Designer's Delight
challenge. Please check out her card...she is one of the talented Design Team members.

My layout was inspired by Sketch 365 at MFT Card Challenges

and last but not least...As You See It - #166- Sparkle

I do hope you will take some time and visit these three sites. You won't be disappointed!

Stampin' Up! Pizza Box Finale

I am celebrating the end of the Christmas season with a last but not least mini pizza box. I am entering it in the final challenge at Paper Craft Crew Inspirational Challenge (Holiday) PCC273. I have also added photos of all the boxes I made for the holidays and letting them take their final bow. I had so much fun decorating these boxes and I know some are repeats but I just wanted them all to be on the same page for once!

A Baker's dozen! Thanks for looking...again!

Stampin' Up! Tranquil Tide Masculine Card

Thanks to Heidi at Watercooler Challenge #150, I had a chance to create what I think could be a masculine thank you card.

I also want to thank Kaylin at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #351 for the design inspiration. I chose not to do the optional theme of "winter".

This was a quick and easy card to make. I thought it was more masculine because it was not frilly and it seemed like a manly color. Men do like flowers! What do you think?

The products and measurements are listed below.

Measurements:

Tranquil Tide Card Base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"

Whisper White Mat: 5 1/4" x 4"

Fresh Florals DSP: 3 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Tranquil Tide Ribbon: 5" x 1/2"

Scraps of Tranquil Tide and Whisper White for sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Anniversary

Tomorrow night we are attending a 5th anniversary party at a local country club. The "bride" is one of our stamping group members so I know she will appreciate a home made card.

I CASE'd a card by Amy Koenders. You can see her card here. At the time Amy created hers, all product was current. May 31 is the end of the catalog year so certain items retire each year. I ordered three packages of this DSP (Falling in Love) because I love it so and none of the people in our card group mind using retired products! However, as a demonstrator, I try to use current products!

The items that are current are listed below.

If you have any questions, please let me know and thanks for looking!
